Jack mount

Post by pertneer » Sun Mar 22, 2009 9:45 pm

I got spring fever this week end and decided to work on the Jeep. Since I was unable to get it started after a wiring fiasco, I decided to make my jack mount for my high lift jack. I wanted it to fit inside of the Jeep and not on the exterior. I bent one a few years ago when I had it mounted to the front bumper (rubbed it a little hard on a tree). So I decided to mount it just inside the rear of the Jeep. I bent up a hoop to attach it in between the rear wheel wells, behind the back seat. I will post some pictures tomorrow when it is light out so I can get some pictures. I am going to take it back out of the Jeep and take it to work so that I can sand blast it before I send it to get powder coated (got to love the free stuff).

Here are the pictures of the jack mount that I made.

I used threaded rod that I inserted through a hole that was drilled through the tube.

I also had to use a nut to space out the jack so that it sit flat against the mount.

I will post pictures after it gets powder coated.
